The Minnesota Vikings made seven selections in the 2024 NFL Draft, with the standout being Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy. They traded up slightly to snag him, moving from the 11th overall pick to the 10th, a move that could prove pivotal for the franchise’s future. While McCarthy may not start in week one of the 2024 NFL season, the Vikings are in a position to allow him to develop at his own pace.
A lingering question about McCarthy was his jersey number choice, given the limited options between 0-19. However, he revealed on KFAN with Paul Allen that he would don the number nine, his college number. Interestingly, this number was previously worn by former Vikings quarterback Tommy Kramer, who gave his approval to McCarthy over the weekend.
